Several years back when my daughter turned six I strung masses of balloons to the diningroom and threaded garlands of the colourful inflated latex from one cornice corner to the other. The balloon pump seemed harder work that the old-fashioned deep breath and blow, so after 20 minutes I was light-headed and ready to pass out. If only paper lanterns were on my radar back then! Isn’t it funny that a simple household item – a paper light shade – has become an iconic party decoration?
I’ve gathered six terrifically inspiring decorative uses for paper lanterns. These easy DIY paper lantern projects are super for parties because you can craft them to match the party theme. The best part – it’s simple and relatively quick to do, plus you may already have all the materials you need around your home.
If you do try some of these please send in your photos – just email them to email@example.com and I’ll feature them on my Pinterest board – and if you have a blog link send it to me too so I can pop it in.
