All you need is a pack of puff pastry, Frankfurter sausages, a beaten egg, and sesame and poppy seeds. Roll out the pastry on a floured surface and prep according to the packet instructions. Slice the pastry into equal sized rectangles, and then cut the rectangles in half forming a triangle. Place a sausage at one end of a pastry triangle and gently roll it on. Line up on a greased tray and then brush on egg followed by a sprinkle of sesame and poppy seeds. Cook at 180 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with bowls of cherry tomatoes and cucumber batons, and maybe even a dollop of tomato sauce.
And if there’s any left-over puff pastry then make something quick and decadent for yourself! Prepare and cut the pastry as before, then scatter small amounts of chocolate chips. We used the tasty luxurious milk chocolate chips from the Chocolate Trading Co. Roll up the pastry and pinch the corners, then brush with egg and cook at 180 degrees for 25 or until golden brown. Eat them while they’re still warm :-)
